VM4225A Large Five-Sided Gantry Machining Center with Automatic Pallet Changer

The VM4225A supports both vertical and horizontal machining, meeting the requirements for multi-process and fully automated five-sided machining of large components.

The machine features a large dual-station pallet-changing system. The pallets are exchanged through a sprocket-and-chain mechanism driven by a gearbox. Its compact overall structure minimizes the required floor space, while each pallet offers a maximum loading capacity of up to 15 tons.

The pallet clamping system uses disc springs and provides a clamping force of nearly 300,000 N, ensuring stable and rigid support during heavy-duty cutting operations.

Automatic lifting aluminum safety curtains are installed on both sides of the pallet-changing area. They effectively prevent chips and coolant from splashing, providing a safer and cleaner working environment for workpiece loading, clamping, and cleaning.

The machine adopts a fixed-bridge gantry structure optimized through CAE finite element analysis, providing a highly rigid and robust foundation for the entire machine.

It is equipped with a fully automatic accessory milling head and an automatic head storage system, supporting automatic head indexing, automatic head exchange, automatic tool changing, automatic tool measurement, and automatic milling-head replacement. These functions significantly improve the efficiency of automated five-sided machining for large components.

The spindle head features an extra-large cross-section structure with four roller linear guideways. Its compact design, high load-bearing capacity, and excellent vibration resistance make it suitable for high-load and heavy-duty cutting applications.

The machine is also equipped with an intelligent tool management system, offering a high level of automation and excellent system expandability. It can be integrated with MES, ERP, and CAM systems to achieve precise, digitalized, and automated management of tool information.
